Top Tips for Families

Lots of parking options to park and do loops on hawkshead side of the lake. Route can be found here: http://www.lakesidehotel.co.uk/files/uploaded/walks/Walks6.pdf If you're coming from the Windermere direction make a day of it and get a 'Walkers Ticket' for Windermere Lake Cruises and take the boat from Bowness up to Ambleside then swap boats to Wray Castle. Explore the castle (National Trust) then walk down the side of the lake back to Ferry Nab (other side from Bowness) and get a ferry back. 2 hour walk approx and another hour- two hours for ferries and waiting for changes.

Great day out. The walk is deceptively long from Wray to Ferry (2 hours) Not all completely flat so town buggies might struggle a little. Our Uppababy vista coped ok.
